// July 28, 2011

This year in Singapore, during June 25-26, took place the 10th anniversary edition of Cosfest. We have previously featured Cosfest in Cosplay Gen #02, and from the looks of it, the event is only getting better and better each year! The event is highly centered around cosplay, as such an event name would imply, and not only does it gather a lot of talented cosplayers from Singapore, but from neighbouring countries as well. [..]

Already very well known in the worldwide cosplay community, Shiro Ang is also one of the first friends of Cosplay Gen, having its photos published in each issue. Never ceasing to amaze through his beautiful portraits and stills, he is also the no.1 contributor on Cosplay Gen group, submitting his wonderful works for the view of as many cosplay fans as possible. Very talented not only as a cosplay photographer, but also as a photographer as such, Shiro was kind enough to reveal some of his opinions regarding cosplay photography for our readers... [..]

Mention underwater photography, and most would think of thousands of dollars worth of equipment - camera, camera casing, diving equipment even. Well, that's not necessarily true. Today I'm going to share with you guys, not just how to do it on a seriously tight budget, but also my own experience from the latest underwater shoot I did with Angie and Kazeki. [..]

Nicole Alú, better known as TsukiLion, is an architecture graduate and lives in the Dominican Republic. She started cosplaying on November of 2009 in a small convention named J-Fest. As in her country cosplay is rather a new wave, she hadn't previously heard of it or had the chance to try it. But, after that convention, she has done a lot of research, and realized how huge and amazing the world of cosplay is, wanting to improve her skills everyday. She has become quite skilful in props-making, and she accepted to share with us and our readers her tutorial for Grell Sutcliff's chainsaw, from the Kuroshitsuji series. [..]

At the end of June, in the Philippines took place the 10th edition of ToyCon (Toys, Hobbies and Collectibles Convention), a yearly event that attracts toy, comic, manga, anime, movie, game and pop culture ethusiasts all over the country. Hosted within Megatrade Halls 1-2-3, a name whose resonance seemed to anticipate a great event, the convention also had some very important cosplay highlights. [..]

Ryoko from Russia inhabits a vast fairyland together with her R&R team members. In an enchanted grove she will embody very different creatures of the forest. In lush surroundings, the mischievous and threatening Lum Invader barely hides her savage temper under tiger-stripped bikinis and Go-go boots. Yet take a turn beyond the FernGully and you will bump into Crysta, a winged crystalline girl hiding behind the damp carpet of moss. [..]

In celebration of our Facebook fanpage reaching over 10.000 fans, we’re proud to announce the launch of a new column called Community’s Choice. In Cosplay Gen #03 we launched the Worldwide Fans column, where people could submit their photos on our deviantART group and we’d pick a few to be featured in the magazine. [..]
