Full STORY

Ok, we’ve kept you in the dark long enough with Cosplay Gen #04, but now we’re finally able to give you more details about it!

First of all, we’re happy to announce that you can already pre-order the magazine on our shop page. Moreover, the magazine will be available for the pre-orders prior to its official launch (on October 28, more details to come soon), in limited edition. As you already know by now, we need our readers in order to keep this magazine alive, and to increase the number of pages and of copies in the future. Thank you all for your love and support so far!

And now it’s time to reveal some of the content we’ve prepared for you for this edition!
Many of you probably already know him and have seen at least one or two of his amazing cosplays online; yes, on our cover this issue is none other than KANAME☆! Although he only started cosplaying approximately 3 and a half years ago, he’s already well known worldwide and his story is quite a moving one.

So who else is featured in this issue? We’ve featured cosplayers from a variety of countries such as Italy, Ukraine, USA, China, Thailand and Russia. We also got to interview Kira Winter, a female photographer from Ukraine, currently based in China, who told us a bit of her story about how she turned from cosplaying to photography.

Make sure you put your Steampunk goggles on, because our very own editor-in-chief, Ruxandra Târcă, is gonna take you on a little time travel into the mechanical beauty of Steampunk cosplay through the eyes of 5 different Steampunk artists. We move on from the alternative Victorian setting to something more rococo-esque, where our J-rock enthusiast and friend Mara Buda teaches us something about the the “J-rockoco” period in the history of cosplay.

What’re you going to learn this issue? Witchiko is going to show you a thing or two about painting lace and vinyl application, while through Callesto’s wig tutorial you’re gonna learn how to style your wig for xXxHoLic’s Ichihara Yuuko.

This issue, we’re bringing back event reviews, and Hampus Andersson is gonna run you through his experience at UppCon ’11 in Sweden, while Rachel Lewis (Fiathriel) is gonna show you what Supanova Sydney in Australia is all about.

Aside from our Worldwide Fans column, where we select photos submited by our readers and fans on our deviantART group, in Cosplay Gen #04 you’re going to see the debut of the Community’s Choice column, where we interviewed the winner you all helped us select on Facebook, Yuu Shomura from the Philippines!

Well, we’ve told you plenty for now, more information and previews in the upcoming weeks.

When’s the actual launch date? Cosplay Gen is launching its fourth issue at London MCM Expo’s EuroCosplay, which is taking place next month, between 28-30 October. We’re all very excited to take part at this event, and we hope to see you there, our dear readers and fans! It will surely be a delight to talk to you.
