When picking out a wig to spike, it’s highly recommended you choose one with lots of volume. Wigs that have frizzed roots at the base have more “lift” and tend to have less gaps where you separate the hair. You also might have to add in extra wefts in advance so you have more fibers to work with. [..]

This tutorial is great for characters like Yoko Littner from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.
Since I do not have much knowledge on how to go about making a proper ponytail using extensions, wefts, and stubbing I used this method that requires none of those things. This was a quick and easy fix to my high ponytail dilemma for Yoko’s hairstyle.
