To commemorate fifteen years of kawaii fashion – and to share the brand’s unique look and philosophy with fans abroad – 6%DokiDoki will hold special fashion shows in five cities in four countries on three continents. As far as her gallery shows, she likes to portray beautiful and feminine characters, such as Paradise Kiss’ Yukari or Euphemia from Code Geass. Remarkable as well is her talented photographer, MrGnob, she herself a cosplayer and costume-maker. [..]
On August 7, in Sydney, Australia, took place another convention for the manga and anime fans: SMASH! According to the official website, the participants could enjoy art competitions, BJD events, art panels and workshops, cosplay events, maid cafe and many other activities. Certainly, loads of fun in there. [..]
Starting today, Cosplay Gen will weekly present one cosplayer or photographer whom we’d like to promote on our website.
For this week, we chose to feature Tsubaki-chan, an Australian cosplayer already known at local conventions, who also coordinates various panels. For her latest cosplay panel, she chose as theme “Cosplay on any budget - Cosplay for Poor Students & Rich Fortunates”, which will be presented at SMASH!, a convention held in Sydney. Tsubaki-chan has a quite wide range of costumes, such as Caska from Berserk, Sakura from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, Kadaj from FF VII Advent Children, and Nene Romanova from Bubblegum Crisis – Tokyo 2040. Yesterday, in Nagoya, Japan’s preliminary round opened the long-awaited World Cosplay Championship. Out of the 15 participating countries, the winners were the group from Italy, which included Luca Buzzi, with a cosplay history of 7 years, and Giancarlo di Pierro, who’s been cosplaying for 4 years.
